How to Read the Newport Residences Balance Unit Chart

The unit numbering. Every unit number takes the form #level-stack. In #35-05, the 35 is the storey and the 05 is the stack, so it is the unit on the 35th storey of stack 05. Stack numbers run 01 to 13 and are printed across the top of the chart; levels run up the side.

Which stacks run where. Newport Residences is one tower, not several blocks, and the floorplate changes shape twice on the way up. The lower deck, Levels 23 to 33, runs thirteen stacks numbered 01 to 13. The upper deck, Levels 35 to 44, runs eleven, because stacks 07 and 13 do not continue above Level 33. Level 45 is the Super Penthouse alone, occupying the whole floor.

Most of the gaps on this chart are not printing faults. Six of them are deliberate, and each one looks like an error until you know what it is.

Level 34 is blank right across. That floor is given over entirely to Club Vista and carries no apartments at all, so the chart shows a full-width break between the two residential decks.

Stacks 07 and 13 stop at Level 33. Their columns simply end, and everything above is upper-deck floorplate that those two stacks do not reach.

Stack 11 is blank at Levels 25 to 27 and again at Levels 41 to 43. The Play Garden sits in that position on the lower deck and the Horizon Garden on the upper deck, both carved into the floorplate rather than bolted onto the outside of it.

Stack 01 is blank at Level 29 and stack 08 is blank at Level 39. Neither address is a home. The gap at stack 01 is the double-height volume above #28-01, and the gap at stack 08 is a void providing mechanical and electrical separation between the units above and below it.

Where a garden displaces one stack, its neighbours change unit type at exactly those levels. Beside the Play Garden and the Horizon Garden, stack 10 carries a 689 sqft layout instead of a 1,206 sqft one and stack 12 a 678 sqft layout instead of a 495 sqft one. Beside the Wellness Garden at Levels 29 to 31, stack 04 changes and stack 01 carries two small units where the rest of the column is a 2,067 sqft home. Beside the Fitness Garden at Levels 37 to 39, stacks 06 and 08 both carry smaller layouts than they do elsewhere.

The practical consequence is that a stack is not a single layout repeated all the way up. If you are matching a specific plan rather than a bedroom count, check the level as well as the stack.
